As Solid as a Mirage

There were a lot of obstacles prior to the actual day of the trip but Alhamdulillah, in the end everyone boarded and reached Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia safely. I’ve posted most of my edited pictures during the trip on instagram but I added one or two new ones here. The song I just found like five minutes ago (and I already memorized) captures most of the whole summer, bittersweetness feeling with its tinge of darkness and overall hope that I wanted to convey (basically I can imagine snapshots of my trip with this song). I hope you enjoy the song as much as I do right now!

All of my photos are taken with my old samsung note with a degrading camera quality so excuse that heh

I had described the trip two weeks ago as a break with the illusion that it is as solid as a mirage. When I was writing that, I was still plagued about the late nights where I found myself awake with a body depleted of energy, mind full of worries – and because of this, a heart that was drained emotionally. The illusion was that I was enjoying my time during the morning, when in the end reality just breaks the glass and creeped under the blankets at night. I couldn’t grasp any stability during those times that it was more accurate if I were to say the whole trip was a long-term mood swing.

But now I’m slowly getting ahold of the silky, shapelessness of the mirage and turn it over to the other side. This is a Shukr Journal. I shouldn’t be dwelling the nights, I should be immersed in the moments I felt that I was closer to Him during the course of the week. The times I was half determined to make most use of my time there for tafakkur alam sessions.

And that is what I am doing. Heck, I was miles away from home and I’m back safely, that’s one blessing out of the countless ones during the 5 days trip. Hopefully we’ll get back to #teetravelog soon enough. Assalamualaikum, may peace be upon you, love.
